Microsuction

30 Minute Appointment0 Minute Appointment

Ear microsuction is safe, painless, and minimally invasive procedure used to remove excess or impacted earwax, a debris, or foreign objects from the ear canal. It involves a me using a special medical microscope to look inside the ear while employing a gentle suction device to carefully vacuum out the blockage.

How the Procedure Works

  • Visualization: After you initial Health Ear Check i will examine your ear canal using a magnifying lens or a microscope, this gives me a clear view of the wax and the eardrum.

  • Vacuuming: A long, thin, sterile suction probe is inserted into the ear to safely extract the wax.

  • No Water Used:

Unlike traditional ear syringing or irrigation, microsuction is completely dry and does not require water to flush the ear.

  • Duration: The procedure typically takes only 30 minutes to complete

Water Irrigation

30 Minute Appointment

Ear water irrigation is a gentle, professional procedure used to remove excess or impacted earwax (cerumen) and foreign debris. It involves flushing the ear canal with a stream of body-temperature water using an electronic irrigator to safely loosen and wash away the blockage.

How the Procedure Works

  • Preparation: I may advise you to soften the earwax with ear drops (like olive oil or Earol) for a few days prior to the appointment.

  • The Process: A small nozzle is gently placed at the opening of your ear canal. A controlled, pulsing stream of lukewarm water (around 37°C) is pushed into the ear to dislodge the wax.

  • Collection: The water and flushed debris are caught in a basin held beneath your ear.

Who Should (and Shouldn't) Have It

Irrigation is highly effective for clearing blocked ears that cause muffled hearing, tinnitus, or discomfort. However, it is not recommended if you have:

  • A perforated (ruptured) eardrum

  • Grommets (ear tubes) inserted

  • A history of recurrent ear infections or recent ear surgery. Microsuction would be performed.

  • Duration: The procedure typically takes only 30 Minutes Max.

Camera Ottoscope

30 Minute Appointment

A digital otoscope is a medical and diagnostic tool equipped with a miniature camera and light that allows you to view inside the ear canal and eardrum. It streams high-resolution video and photos directly to a smartphone, tablet, or monitor, making it easier to monitor ear health or share visuals with a doctor.

How It Works

  1. Preparation: The device emits its own light (usually via built-in LEDs) and has a fixed focal length, usually requiring you to keep the camera about 2 to 3 cm away from what you are viewing.

  2. Insertion: To get a clear view, you gently pull the outer ear backward to straighten the ear canal and slowly insert the camera.

  3. Navigating: Because you are looking at a 2D screen, hand-eye coordination takes a little getting used to. Movements are often counterintuitive at first, so you should always move the camera slowly and
